I started photographing my parents after my father had a stroke.

The stroke greatly affected his physical functioning and the mental state of both my parents.

We had to move them to another place of residence near my sister and my mother, who did not

agree to bring a caregiver to their home, took care of him or actually nursed my father.

I took all the photos at my parents’ home and in the yard of their house.

Photographing my parents started as a therapeutic process for me as a result of the difficulty visiting them.

It brought up things that accompanied me in my life, in my relationship with my parents, in their relationship together,

and their relationship to Russia, the country they came from 50 years ago.

This created a series of a couple,  immigrants from the former Soviet Union,

who never succeeded in fully integrating to Israel - "settling down”.

They cling to each other to survive the shared journey.
